MOOSLETTER 2

Here we go again with a new edition of the Moosletter, bringing some news from the Cowshed and a competition with fabulous prizes. We are so proud of our air conditioned premises that I’ll skip the introduction and announce the coolest summer ever in the coolest ever studio!

How come?

Well, it wasn’t easy. Fitting an air conditioning unit is a professional job on its own. Fitting it in a recording studio is a superprofessional job. It had to be sound proof, lofty, efficient and economical. It had to be masterly designed.

Took around 100 hours of manual labour in harsh conditions. It rained. The loft was too stuffy, filthy and low for most humans. But not for Joe, Tim and Robi who showed amazing stamina and accomplished the mission.

The new era of cool air luxury is here. The Cowshed is VERY comfortable.

A bit different kind of breeze is coming from our wonderful free-lance engineers: Tim Burns and Teo Miller. Took 5 years to let someone near our analogue cows: stumbling Plate Reverb, crisp Neve Preamps, mighty Amek Angela and other vintage beauties. Now both of them can confidently milk them, press the right buttons and make fine records.
It’s been a real pleasure working with them for past few months. Artists like Blur, Placebo, Martina Topley-Bird, Gary Lucas and Mike Neilson trusted them too.
Joe’s been busy. Finishing albums with top artists: Barak Schmool’s Meta Meta, Richard Chapman, Monica Vasconcelos, Caratinga, Tony Smith and dude Artur Dyjecinski. Recording Marcella Detroit. Joined Brian Duffy’s avant garde band Modified Toy Orchestra which gets him gigs around Europe, leaves more brainspace for creativity and generally makes him happier.
Furthermore, more excitements in Myddleton Rd. There's a new Greek delicatessen shop and Polish Pierogi takeaway next doors. Legendary Da VInci’s diner burnt down in a curious incident last month which was pretty sad for the Myddleton Rd community. Panikos Tailor decided to paint his shop front and in the process of doing so discovered this ancient piece of cowshed advertising under the layers of paint. Any ideas what the rest of the sign might say?

Well, that's all for now. For comments of any kind please email biba@cowshedstudio.com and do stay in touch, update us on gigs, deals, gossips and fortunes. Thanks for all your support.
